Ilfracombe and District Angling Association

Ilfracombe: North Devon's premier angling resort. A largely untapped source for the sea angling enthusiast. A wide variety of accessible rock and beach marks provide a comprehensive range of resident and seasonal species.

The local harbour is the focal point of interest, steeped in its maritime history as a working port. The fishing boats unload their daily catches of Crab, Lobster and commercial fish. The harbour is also base to the local charter fleet, an array of vessels that meet strict licensing and safety regulations. Boats are fitted with the latest technology in navigation and fishing aids. They are operated by fully qualified skippers with a total commitment to fulfilling customers expectations. Reef, mud/sand banks, rough and wrecks are all within easy striking distance of the port, producing Bass, Pollack, Wrasse, at least four species of Ray, Cod, Conger, Turbot and Dabs. Specialist Shark fishing is also available.

The Pier Jetty offers an opportunity for the disabled, novice, junior or senior citizen to try their angling skills, very often producing good specimen fish.

Clubs offer open competitions which run on almost every weekend of the year.
